Sana 2.0 and the revenge of the hamster-skin codpiece.
Why the "real women never wear dresses" trope is a load of bullshit.

You know what’s great? Female characters who kick ass in fights and don’t take anyone’s shit and whatnot. Sure. I can agree with that. My favorite marvel hero was Wonder Woman, afterall. But you know what’s also great? Female characters who wear frilly dresses and cook and fall in love with the hero. And female characters who are both (girly badasses ftw, man) or neither. Female characters. And male characters and miscellaneous other-gendered characters (not that we get many of those, alas).

But I’m digressing a little here.

My point is, that “traditional femininity” is not in itself a bad thing. The Damsel in Distress is not a “traitor to her gender”. Srsly guys you need to stahwp. Say it with me, here: not every girl needs to be an Action Girl.

What makes a female character ‘good’ (as in not sexist and gross) isn’t measured by how long they’d last in a fight; it’s by how interesting and realistic they are as a person.

Okay so, now let’s apply this to one of my fandoms (not necessarily because I see it a lot in said fandom just ‘cause I need an example): Berserk. Oh my goodness please stop using the Cascas of the (fictional) world to insult the Charlottes and Sonias. Please.

Liking girly things does not make someone weak. Neither does falling in love, or crying, and fucking twirling around in circles in your fucking ballgown singing to goddamn fucking birds or some shit like that.

And as a final point, if you think the two “types” are mutually exclusive than you are a dumb. Sometimes Peach and Zelda casually save the world with their secret under-dress daggers and pretty parasols of asskicking.
