Griffith-Femto duality thoughts (wow I talk about this guy a lot)

Okay, so like, I think that, like, people are being weird by assuming it’s an either/or question? Like, to be completely honest, the answer is both.

Femto is not Griffith. But he isn’t a separate entity either, not entirely. It’s kind of like Gamzee from homestuck and his whole “psycho split personality” thing (which is a massive oversimplification but that is, frankly, a story for another post). There was always ‘evil’ (or rather, the potential for it) within Griff, but there was also a lot of other stuff. So it is with a good 90% of humanity, actually.

But here’s the thing: Griffith was always a person who was willing to do some rather… uhhh… morally questionable things for his dream.

There were still limits on that, and he still (I honestly believe) felt guilty for at least some of them, deep down (the boy with the knight doll, anyone?). But he tried really hard not to. (“No use regretting it now.”)

But it’s explicitly stated that part of the sacrifice is the potential-apostle/godhand’s own humanity. All his, uhh, Griffith-ness and whatnot (wow I cannot phrase things at all). Femto still has Griffith’s mind, albeit a  horribly corrupted version of it. He’s still acting on Griffith’s desires, fears, anger, etc. But so are, like, all the demons. And, uhh, unless you wanna argue that Rosine was always gonna kidnap and kill little kids even if she hadn’t been an apostle (which I… honestly don’t think you can…?) then that really doesn’t mean very much.
